Celebrating 20 years in business.

In the late Fall of 1991 Linda and I opened our version of the Literary Cafe. In honor of the 20 years that we have been in business we’re dedicating the month of December to the celebration of this milestone.

How are we celebrating you might ask? I guess since we’re older we don’t really have the energy to throw a one night party like we did for the 10 year anniversary in 2001. So I guess this notification and a sign Linda made that we’ll hang in the window is it.

Please don’t misinterpret this as us taking it lightly. We’re not. We both feel lucky and  happy that we’ve been able to do this for twenty years and hope to do it for twenty more. We’ve gotten to know the greatest people on Earth thanks to this gig. We would be remiss to not acknowledge our gratefulness.

You’re probably thinking that I’ll be digging out a raft of video related to this occasion. Probably not. That’s because over the past five years I’ve already posted most of the public-interest-bar-related-video from the early years. Also, regrettably there is no video from our opening night. A camcorder was present but it wasn’t used. If I do find something new I’ll post it.

Thank you Bacchus.

The promotional postcard for the Literary Cafe's opening night. The Garden Club was an art club for kids run and by Steve Torkar. It's purpose was to get the kids of the neighborhood involved in art making.
